I had a fantastic time at the UXDX Community: Istanbul event, “UX Meets AI: A Love Story with Red Flags.” It was a night of deep dives into how our roles as designers are evolving in the age of automation.
A huge thank you to the speakers for their insightful perspectives:
- Neşe Kına reminded us that while AI rewrites itself daily, the “Human OS” and emotional design remain our most important benchmarks.
- Beste Tanrıverdi Köse gave us a reality check on the “Red Flags”—AI has all the data, but it still lacks the human context that turns insights into meaning.
- Yusuf Uzuner shared a practical look at AI as a partner to ease workflows and onboarding, moving us from “manual labor” to being “Professional Context Feeders.”
The Highlight: During the Q&A, I shared my thoughts on using AI as synthetic users for certain scenarios. While it sparked some healthy debate (and some opposition!), I believe that when used correctly, AI can help us see a broader view and save precious time during the early stages of ideation.
It was great to see such a vibrant exchange of ideas. Whether you see AI as a “love story” or a “red flag,” one thing is clear: the human element in UX has never been more vital.
Special thanks to Deniz Can Demir and Nur Aras for leading this community, and a big shout-out to Trendyol and the Trendyol UX Team for being such generous hosts and providing a great space for us to gather! 🚀
